Our awareness initiative is futuristic as we are aggressively training the coming generation, also known as “millennials” to be “Green Ambassadors”. This is a five-week interactive training program conducted by professionals where students are made aware of climate change and sustainable solutions.

Forest Activity

ATGL organized an education session of educating students and teachers about Miyawaki Methodology and planted 3,070 saplings of 5 mixed varieties at Calorx Olive International School on 26th Jan’22, making the total number of samplings planted to 5145 in two months!

Green Millennials Activity

ATGL collaborated with Anand Niketen School for educating the young minds about climate change from grade 5^th to 7^th and organized first training session from 24^th – 28^th January (Online). There were more than 450+ enthusiastic students who participated in this interactive training. They also discovered about the SDG goals and few practical ways to control climate control.

Employee Awareness Activity

Selfie Contest for employees with Green Member on 4th Feb posted on social media

Adani Employees were asked to share a selfie with their green member (plant) and the best three out of all, were posted on social media. This activity was intended to make them feel plants as their family members so that they can care about them just like we do in family!

Engaging the youth of Ahmedabad

Under this umbrella, the first public interaction initiative was organized to engage the youth and create more awareness about sustainability among them. This activity witnessed the presence of hundreds of millennials. They were made aware of our climate crisis through fun activities. The activity was conducted at Shopper’s Plaza, the popular mall in Ahmedabad’s Shantigram Township.

The Activities

1. Snakes and Ladders with a Green Twist

The Millennials played a life-sized climate board game of Snakes and Ladders, which had UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) and factors affecting climate change plotted on it. The game incentivized positive climate behavior such as planting trees, and disincentivized actions that were detrimental to the environment, such as not turning off automobile engines at a traffic stop.

2. Identify the Plants

In another interaction, millennials were asked to identify various green plants to test their awareness of plant variety and also inculcate their curiosity about nature.

3. The Green Selfie

Here the participants were asked to click selfies against a green background in a limited time window.The entire event was organized in a digital flow using QR codes for registration and e-Slate tools for other applications.

FOREST

Developing a biodiversity park in an area of 36,200 m2 in Gota, Ahmedabad in association with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

On World Forest Day, the foundation stone was laid by stakeholders of ATGL for the development of a biodiversity park in Gota, Ahmedabad. The park will be developed over an area of 36,200 m2. A sapling of the Banyan Tree was planted by the representatives of Adani Group and Total Energies to mark the beginning of this green wonderland. Using the Miyawaki technique, more than 2.5 lakh trees will be planted generating oxygen to the tune of 1,536 metric tonnes per annum. With a water body, the park will also be creating an ideal ecosystem for the aquatic species.

The employment of women will make this project further unique. Another important aspect of the park will be the innovative solutions like benches, pathways and other installations with iconic designs that will be made from waste or recycled materials.

This biodiversity park will attract people from all walks of life, including local residents, senior citizens, students, educators, environmentalists and thinkers. It will enable communities to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

Reverse Vending Machine Installation For Plastic Bottle Disposal

Reverse Vending Machine was successfully installed which is not only helping in right disposal of plastic waste, but also motivating young crowd to trash it thoughtfully.

Free Dental Check-up

Under the SDG, it becomes important for us to ensure good health, thus this camp was organized to motivate consumers at gas station to have happy smiles along with good gas. This camp was organized by ATGL and conducted by Dr Ishani Iyer.

Khurja Circle work initiated

Keeping our focus on mass plantation, we are developing circle with plantation at Khurja (Haryana) with the permission of local government body. This public presence will help in educating local industrialist about care for environment.

Since our country is going through a massive transformation of digitalization, we have also incorporated the same by creating simple QR code for ease of collection of contribution from public.

Bhoomi Poojan of AMC Gota Biodiversity Park

To set the pace going, the civil work of AMC Gota park has started with Bhoomi Poojan in presence of AMC Zonal Manager along with CAS & ATGL team.

The first phase of work is targeted to be completed by monsoon along with plantation.

Free Dental Camp on World No Tobacco Day

On World No Tobacco Day, ATGL initiated another free dental camp at our Vadaj CNG station for awareness of impact of tobacco on oral health by Dr Gaurav A Chabbaria.

CERC Collaboration for Green Millennials

To ensure the very concept of building the value system of energy conservation amongst school students from 6^th to 9^th grade, ATGL has collaborated for an year's program for 30+ schools in Ahmedabad with CERC (Consumer Education & Research Centre)

This revolution will bring massive change in behaviour of young minds and creating them "Green Ambassadors" for the future

Created awareness in Ahmedabad among 360 students from Adani Vidya Mandir, 80 students from Blue Bell School, 110 students of K R Raval School and around 30 students of Riverside School.

The basic civil construction, tree plantation and awareness initiatives are underway on a big scale. The civil work is expected to be completed in a month.

Green Morning Customer Delight at the Biodiversity Park in Gota, Ahmedabad

On 18^th June 22 at 8 am ATGL customers and other families residing near the Gota area planted trees as per the Miyawaki Technique in the Biodiversity Park. ATGL team thanked them and appealed for their continued participation and awareness.

The Civil Work of the Biodiversity Park has been completed and 11,267 saplings have been planted here.

Green Millennials:

Educating the students, Empowering the future

• Created awareness among 818 students of 5 different schools
• To undertake a pilot study of the Energy Audit Forms, 60 students from a school were asked to get them filled out and make a list of BEE star-labelled products in their homes. 30 students submitted their forms the next day.
• Organised and received great participation from the school students in the Poster/Essay/Drawing/Story/Comics/Animation Video making session on the theme ‘World in 2050’

• 31337 Nos of trees& 6053 Nos of Shrubs planted in Sept-2022.
• Total 58872 Nos of trees and 6053 Nos of Shrubs planted till Sept-2022.
• Dewatering was also done while rainfalls to avoid the delay in plantation.
• Weeding is going on in new & existing plantations because heavy weed growth occurs due to heavy rainfalls.

Green Millennials:

• Total 2200 students participated from 16 Schools.
• Conducted the second session of the project in 8 schools where the students were taught to conduct home energy audits. The forms were thoroughly explained to the students and then they were able to fill up the forms.
• Total 746 energy audit forms were received from 8 schools where we have conducted the session

• We kick started this year's Greenmosphere for LiFE program with the first session at Rachana School. The session had Vikram Sridhar, a professional storyteller takes the students through a journey of how small acts can lead to big change and then Anusha Iyer engaged with the students on energy conservation topic.

Greenmosphere for LiFE session was conducted at Anand Niketan School where 315 participated actively, where the students earned valuable insights on Energy audits which will equip them to carryout their own energy audits at their residences.
